Hi, I’m Zoie, the owner of Rockin’ Crocs!
My business started completely by accident. Like, genuinely. There was no five year business plan and definitely no clue that I would end up owning a store.
I was 15 years old and a sophomore in high school when I ordered some Croc charms from Amazon. I got them, looked at the quality, and said absolutely not. So, I sold them…they sold out the same day. Obviously, that got my attention.
I started looking into vendors and wholesalers that offered better quality and a much bigger variety. No one in my area was selling Croc charms at the time, and I knew I could offer something better than the same random packs of charms everyone could order online.
My mom’s den quickly became my “charm room.” Did she plan on losing an entire room of her house to thousands of tiny shoe charms? Probably not. But here we are.
I started doing vendor events, packing everything up, setting everything up, sitting for hours on end, tearing everything down, and then doing it all over again. Last year, I saw the storefront I’m currently in for rent, so naturally, I decided I needed an entire store.
I also work with some pretty amazing small businesses. Spookworks Studio makes my 3D prints, Wool & Whiskers makes my crochet items, Freshie Shack makes my freshies, Dress Up With Davie sells my Paparazzi jewelry, and Pig Time Creations makes my tumblers. My mom also helps with basically everything and deserves an honorable mention.
I want every person who shops with me to feel seen and appreciated. Every single order means something to me, whether you buy one charm or enough stuff to make your bank account question your decisions. Your order matters to me.
Owning a store means I am pretty much always working. If I’m not making products, I’m restocking. If I’m not restocking, I’m ordering. If I’m not ordering, I’ve probably found another product that I absolutely convinced myself the store needs.
Staying consistent is hard, but Rockin’ Crocs has been my life since I started. This business has supported me and my fur family, given me opportunities I never expected, and allowed me to build something I’m incredibly proud of. Opening my own storefront has easily been one of my biggest accomplishments and some of the hardest work in my life.
All because I ordered some bad charms from Amazon. So… thanks, Amazon?
